Reconfigured Library Spaces

IMG_8465 (1).JPG

The Foundation funded a project to reconfigure or "repurpose" specific areas of the library to make best use of the existing floor plan. Collections were relocated, services were combined, a conference room increased in size and technology changed. These modifications improve connectivity of related spaces, allow library staff to share resources and enhance how patrons navigate the library.

Orion Telescopes

Four of the library's five Orion telescopes were funded through the Library Foundation. BPL's Telescope Loan project is popular with ever increasing checkouts and a long list of  patrons on a wait list for their turn to enjoy this unique opportunity.

BPL Tech Cards

BPL Tech Cards provide all students in the library's service area with access to quality resources. The project is supported by the Walmart ROC Team and Volunteerism Always Pays program through the Walmart Foundation.

Author Receptions

Nearly 300 people attended A Visit With Delia Owens and enjoyed hearing from the New York Times bestselling author of Where the Crawdads Sing. The event featured a special reception in the library's own reimagined marsh and a book sale and signing. The reception was sponsored by the Bentonville Library Foundation and TIMEX.

New iPad stations for tweens and teens offer relevant technology access inside the library. This project, and others, were supported by the Foundation through the Walmart Gives NWA Project.
