Read what some of our patrons had to say...

"About two years ago, I received an informational card regarding an Adult Program hosted by Susie Coelho at the Bentonville Public Library.  I had never been to the Library having just moved from the St. Louis area, but thought it would be a great opportunity to meet new people.  Upon entering the library, I was immediately greeted with enthusiasm and smiling faces.  Obtaining my card was a simple enough process, but it was the acceptance and warmth I felt from the staff during my experience and ramblings throughout the stacks that never left me.  It was this comfort level I felt while at the library that led me to volunteer.  I was happy to devote as many hours a week for free to an organization that embraced acceptance, diversity and unselfishly gave all they could to our community.  Patrons tell staff members how the positive energy and atmosphere at this Library can quickly turn their bad day into something wonderful.  I hear this and see it often when I spend my days at the Bentonville Public Library since I now work there full time doing a job I would so gladly do for free."

"As a retired librarian, I fully understand the value of libraries to everyone. I participate in the Bentonville Public Library in several ways. I have served on the Advisory Committee in the past. I am an active member of the Friends of Bentonville Library. I volunteer in the Friends bookstore most weeks. I check out books for residents of the Legacy Village Greenhouse Assisted Living Homes. I attend public programs sponsored by the Library. During my time at the bookstore, I have an opportunity to see the very wide variety of patrons who use the library, young or old, wealthy or not so, highly educated or less so. I see the families with young children going by to the children’s section. I see home schoolers coming to use the Library as a learning resource. I see students coming to complete assignments. I see senior citizens coming to check out books and often to chat with someone. I see various groups who use the meeting rooms for meetings or classes. I especially appreciate the employees of the Library. They are knowledgeable, friendly and always there to help. The Library is truly the heartbeat of a city. How very fortunate we are to have such a great one."

My family has not been in Bentonville very long but, the library has become one of our most beloved places to go. My kids love Storytime with Mrs. Sue Ann. I love the craft time – no clean up for me! Everyone is so friendly and helpful. I really appreciate having this great library in our wonderful city.
